Romantic Cybele Forest Lodge & Spa set deep in 300 acres of forest, near White River in Mpumalanga, a haven of peace and relaxation where you will be treated to a blissful and restorative experience at their enchanting Spa in the Forest.
Deep in the heart of the forest, you'll find an old hunting lodge called Cybele Forest Lodge and Spa: surrounded by timber plantations, mountains and meadows. In the very centre is the Lodge itself. A charming old farmhouse with a wide verandah where you can sip your sundowners and look out over the magnificent gardens. Wander down to the large secluded swimming pool with its comfortable sun beds. Here you can relax and listen to the creaking of the Bluegum trees in the forest breeze. Breathe in the heady aroma of Frangipani, Gardenia and Buddleia.
The interior of the Lodge is warm and inviting. The main house is furnished throughout with antiques, art and exquisite fabrics - the ideal place to relax with a book or magazine.
accommodation
The accommodation at the lodge is limited to 28 people, and each of the various suites, cottages and studios has been individually decorated and personalised. Most include sitting rooms, some private walled patios and yet another has a private sauna. All six suites have their own private swimming pools, two of these are heated and all the cottages and suites have log fireplaces with a plentiful supply of wood so that in winter you can drift off to the soothing sound of logs crackling in the fireplace.

It is here in the intimate dining room that perhaps Cybele's most memorable achievements are revealed. The consistently high standard has earned Cybele a reputation amongst both local and international travelers for some of the very finest food in the land. For dinner there are homemade soups, freshly baked bread, imaginative starters, a choice of elegant main courses served with the freshest of vegetables, and creative desserts.

Romantic and peaceful ambience, guests at Cybele are able to indulge in a full range of treatments at this world-famous forest hideaway. Highly experienced staff has designed a wide range of programs and treatments to relax the body and enrich the soul. The architecture is classic Tuscan, with a peaceful and completely private-walled garden full of lemon trees, lavender and water features. The treatment rooms have been designed with generous space in mind, and all the fittings and equipment are of the very finest quality.
The Spa comprises two treatment rooms, two beauty therapy rooms, a steam room and spacious showers with multiple, high-pressure jets. An additional feature of the Spa is a large open-air hydrotherapy bath - which has been fashioned out of natural materials and enclosed in a private-walled courtyard. All surrounded by the natural foliage of the forest. The products used in The Spa in the Forest are Environ, Algologie and St. Tropez.
location
The lodge is a 3½ to 4 hours drive from Johannesburg , and you really couldn't choose a more comfortable base from which to explore the surrounding countryside. Only a short distance away, over the mountains from Cybele, are the spectacular attractions of the area such as God's Window, Bourkes Luck Potholes and the Blyde River Canyon.
Cybele is also close to the Kruger Park and the private game reserves - Londolozi, Ulusaba, Singita, Mala Mala, Sabi Sabi and Lion Sands - you can almost hear the roar of the lion!
